Lowry Flowers & Frames have been trading for over 10 years. We were originally based in Kent, just inside the M25, but in 2002 we moved to just outside Chichester, West Sussex.
Christine Tebbitt the proprietor, originally studied floristry but found that running a business providing floristry services did not fit in very well with a young demanding family.
However her love of floral crafts , soon saw her providing friends and family with her services, and in particular the preservation of wedding and special occasion flowers. This soon grew via word of mouth to a small business, as Christine found that this type of work was not so deadline related as working with fresh flowers, and could therefore fit in around family life.
For example when flowers arrive from a customer, they have to be photographed and then dismantled they are then dried in one of a number of different ways, depending on the type of flower or foliage. But once this process is started the creative part of reassembly, mounting and framing, can be fitted in around school runs etc.
Although wedding flower preservation remains the core business, Christine has found that more and more people are wanting to preserve other special occasion flowers, and also things such as the sugar flowers from wedding, anniversary and christening cakes and these make beautiful pictures.
